After releasing a handful of teasers over the past week, David Letterman kicks off the second season of his My Next Guest Needs No Introduction Netflix special. Kanye West is one of the stars who Letterman sits down with, as the two cover a wide range of topics during the in-depth interview. In the 55-minute conversation, Kanye speaks on mental health issues and his bipolar disorder. The rapper/designer cites the passing of his mother, Donda West, for the root of his mental issues that he’s kept stable since being diagnosed 2 years ago.
Kanye also touches on his controversial support of President Donald Trump, the backlash he’s received, his popular Sunday Service gatherings, the #MeToo movement, artists that inspire him like James Turrell, fatherhood, and more. Letterman is also given a tour of Kanye’s mansion, where the former late-night television host is dressed in various pieces from West’s Yeezy collection. My Next Guest Needs No Introduction also features conversations with Ellen DeGeneres, Tiffany Haddish, Lewis Hamilton and Melinda Gates.
