Last night, the live taping of the 2015 BET Honors awards went down in which Kanye West received the year’s Visionary Award. Damon Dash was chosen to introduce the night’s important awardee – although the media mogul seemed to slight West during the intro, reportedly stating he still has issues with him, although emotional. “My history with Kanye is I didn’t respect him as a rapper because I was around the greatest rappers – but he has courage” Dash stated. Kanye’s speech apparently included many quotables, with gems like “You can’t be the kid in the back of the classroom with black nail polish. You have to smack the sh*t out of people with your creativity” and speaking on wife Kim: “They say white girls go out and get a rich black dude. But my wife dated broke black dudes. So it’s not about the money.”
