In a new interview, Kanye West reveals that he doesn’t like Biggie’s “Juicy” or “Big Poppa” beat.
As Yeezus continues to travel the country on tour, Monday he dropped byGreg Street’s show on V103 Atlanta to chat about a few topics. The two chopped it up for about 35-minutes in a 2-part interview and as usual, Kanye had some choice words.
In part one of their conversation, the two talked about various topics including Kanye breaking down barriers as an artist, Michael Jackson paving the way for artist like him, his “creative genius”, and his luxury sneaker line with Louis Vuitton.
Later in part two of their sit-down, that’s where things got a little more interesting. Asides from discussing the signing of G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce, and being a trendsetter, Kanye spoke about sampling. That’s where Kanye revealed that he doesn’t like Biggie’s “Juicy” and/or “Big Papa” beat. ‘Ye stated:
“Man that “Juicy beat, I don’t like that beat man, and I don’t like the beat for [“Big Poppa”]. I don’t like the Dr. Dreworm noise on the chorus. and I’m sure Biggie didn’t like it either. But Biggie was so cold, that he could make you like anything.” -Kanye
