Without any additional details, Jimmy Kimmel created a buzz announcing Kanye West make an appearance on his late-night talk show this week. Returning for the first-time in five years, Mr. West did indeed popped up on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The rapper/designer/father sat down with Kimmel to discuss a wide-range of topics during their interview. Kanye opened up on speaking out in support of President Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian’s visit to the White House and successfully convincing Trump to grant clemency for first-time drug offender Alice Johnson, embracing his bi-polar disorder, being hospitalized in 2016, sending his daughter North West to fashion camp, executive producing five albums this summer and more.
“Everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me,” said Kanye when speaking about the election. “And then told me every time I said I liked Trump that I couldn’t say it out loud or my career would be over, I’d get kicked out of the black community… So, even when I said it right before I went to the hospital and I expressed myself… When I came out I had lost my confidence. So I didn’t have the confidence to take on the world and the possible backlash. And it took me a year and a half to have the confidence to stand up and put on the hat. No matter what the consequences were.”
