Kendrick Lamar Covers Billboard; Talks Iggy Azalea’s GRAMMY Nods, New Album & More
After his cover story for XXL, K. Dot will also grace the pages of the latest issue of Billboard Magazine. In his sit-down, he briefly speaks on rap’s current pariah, Iggy Azalea, but not in the manner that you think:
“She’s doing her thing,” Lamar tells Billboard. “Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.”
As you know, Kendrick is once again nominated for a pair of Grammy Awards, but he – naturally – doesn’t seem to care about them these days…
“I appreciate [the Grammys] recognizing me,” Lamar says. “That’s not my overall goal… It’s best to just go and enjoy the festivities.”
The issue, which is currently on newsstands now, also reveals that his highly-anticipated new album – slated to arrive within “the first half of 2015” – has a title (but he won’t say what it’s to be called… yet), that the song he performed on The Colbert Report may not even make the project, and much more.
