Watch Kendrick Lamar perform a brand new record on the Colbert Report.
Kendrick Lamar had the honor of being the final musical guest on “The Colbert Report” Tuesday night where he took to the stage to perform a never before heard record for the audience.
With Terrace Martin & Thundercat backing up K.Dot on the sax and bass, Lamar rocked his braids and performed a brand new Astronote-produced record that will presumably live on his sophomore album.
Prior to this performance however, Kendrick took a few minutes out of his time to sit down with Colbert and discuss his Compton roots, Dr. Dre, and why he prefers to be called a writer instead of a rapper. “I pride myself on that. It’s more storytelling than actually rhyming words together,” he explained.
Watch K Dot debut the new record around the 4:05 mark above. Thoughts on the track?
