Kendrick Lamar celebrates the 4th of July with the premiere of his highly anticipated music video for “Not Like Us.” Directed by Kendrick himself alongside Dave Free, the six-minute visual captures Kendrick’s dynamic energy across his Compton stomping grounds, peppered with references to his public feud with Drake.

In the video, Kendrick is seen cruising through the city with Mustard, performing push-ups on cinder blocks, and visiting various local spots surrounded by hundreds of locals vibing to the track. Cameos include Tommy The Clown, DeMar DeRozan, Top Dawg, Dave Free, and members of Black Hippy. The scene where Kendrick smashes an OVO owl piñata while delivering scathing lines directed at Drake, like

“Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles / Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, Dot, fuck ’em up,” stands out for its intensity. He further taunts, “Why you trolling like a bitch? / Ain’t you tired? / Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor.”

Adding a personal touch, the video also features Kendrick posing and dancing with his partner Whitney Alford and their two children, culminating in a scene where he cages an owl, symbolizing his victory in the feud.

Produced by Mustard, “Not Like Us” has been a key track in Kendrick’s recent back-and-forth with Drake, earning him his first No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and his fourth overall chart-topper. The video release follows Kendrick’s powerful performance at The Pop Out- Ken & Friends concert on Juneteenth.
