Kendrick Lamar Performs On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

Watch Kendrick Lamar performs on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’.

Stephen Colbert kicked off his new gig as the successor of David Letterman’s late-night CBS show, this week, and despite trading in his faux-conservative persona of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Reportfor a quasi-nerdy-yet-still-hilarious (his comparison of Donald Trump to Oreo cookies was gold), star-studded affair, his cheeky humor and likable personality makes up for his rather novice interviewing expertise.

Tonight’s episode had a familiar face to Colbert: Kendrick Lamar. After being the final musical guest on The Colbert Report in December 2014, Lamar became the first official musical guest on the show tonight (September 9th). K. Dot – sporting cornrows – performed alongside his familiar band mates – including Bilal, Thundercat, andAnna Wise of Sonnymoon – performed a medley of tracks from To Pimp A Butterfly, including “Wesley’s Theory” (which is rumored to be the next video to drop from the album), “King Kunta,” and “U.”
