Kendrick Lamar releases new song “The Heart Part 4.″
During the early hours of Thursday morning (Mar. 24), Kendrick Lamar wiped his Instagram account clean leaving a cryptic message in the form of a black-and-white photo that simply read “IV.” Soon after, speculation began that the “IV” signified K.Dot announcing his fourth solo LP, the follow-up to 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly.
Shortly before midnight, the TDE MC revealed what it represented, a brand new record titled “The Heart Part 4.” The fourth installment of his fan favorite series features King Kendrick in top form, delivering sharp bars while firing at unknown peers over the various beat changes. “My fans can’t wait for me to son yo punk ass & crush ya whole lil s**t/ I’ll Big Pun ya punk ass, You a scared lil b**ch!,” raps Lamar during one vicious verse. He later continues his lyrical assault, “Tiptoeing around my name ni**a you lame and when I get at you homie don’t you tell me you was just playing.”
Kendrick also gives the competition a heads up, closing the track by rapping “Y’all got til April the 7th to get y’all shit together,” potentially revealing a new project is set to drop early next month. Out now on iTunes, listen below.
