Less than three weeks after its release, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. has gone platinum. Today the RIAA officially announced that Kendrick’s third major label album has sold over a million copies (from both sales and streams).

DAMN. debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last month after selling 610,000 equivalent units in its first week. The album retained the top spot in its second week with additional sales of 239,000 equivalent units. While the third-week numbers have yet to be finalized, it’s clear DAMN. has already passed the million-sales mark.
DAMN. is Kendrick’s third platinum album following good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp a Butterfly, but considering he plays by the “ole skool rules,” maybe Top Dawg won’t be celebrating just yet.
