As everyone expected, Kendrick Lamar will hold the #1 spot on Billboard this week with his new album, To Pimp A Butterfly.

According to HDD, the album sold an estimated 319k copies it’s first week (355k, including streams).

On top of breaking Drake’s single-day streaming record with 9.6 million, beating himself the next day with 9.8M, and receiving high praise from just about every publication there is, TPAB marks Kendrick’s first #1 album. If you remember, gkmc debuted #2 with 242k sold in it’s opening week.

The final tally may vary slightly, but considering the Empire OST – which is sitting at #2 – didn’t even crack 100k, it’s safe to say it’s King Kendrick’s week.

Congrats to K.Dot, TDE and everyone involved.
