Despite being released from prison back in January, Kevin Gates is under some very tough restrictions including a travel ban. Along with not being able to visit his family in California, the southern rapper has had to cancel a handful of shows. “The Illinois Department of Corrections has prevented Kevin from leaving the state of Illinois,” said Kevin Gates wife Dreka in an Instagram post. “He isn’t even allowed to come home to California where we live. Since he was released in January, he has not been able to come home not one time.”
Trying to move forward, Gates previewed new music for his fans over the weekend leading many to believe a new project was on the way. The assumption turned out to be correct as the New Orleans native drops a new 3-track EP called Chained to the City. Out now on iTunes, it includes the songs “Change Lanes,” “Vouch” and “Let It Sing.”
