Kevin Gates Sentenced To 30 Months In Prison

Just when it appeared that things were going to turn over for Kevin Gates, he got dealt with another curveball. After being convicted of battery and sent to jail for six months, the Baton Rouge rapper was slated to be released from a Florida jail on March 29th. And he was… for roughly 24 hours. The following day, he turned himself in to a Chicago jail to serve time for an outstanding warrant from a gun case in 2013. Keep in mind, his debut album Islah shortly went Platinum just before the Florida stint. Today (April 26th), Gates found out how long he would remain in there. After pleading guilty to the charge of felony gun possession, he was sentenced to prison for 30 months. At the time of this piece, it appears that Gates won’t be released from prison until late 2019. Having been in jail since March 30th, Gates will now be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
