Kanye West was forced to cut a festival performance short after his wife Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint on Sunday (Oct. 2).
A Kardashian spokesperson issued a statement on the matter to several news outlets, confirming the harrowing incident.
“Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers,” the spokeswoman said (via CNN). “She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
A Paris law enforcement official confirmed the news to the Associated Press. However, neither the spokesperson or the police would reveal any additional details at press time.
Kanye was in the middle of performing “Heartless” at The Meadows Music & Arts Festival in New York City on Sunday, when he asked for the music to stop. “I’m sorry,” he said. “Family emergency. I have to stop the show.”

The Meadows later confirmed his early exit and festival organizers, Founders Entertainment, issued a statement (via Billboard).
“Due to a family emergency, Kanye West was forced to end his performance towards the end of his set. We appreciate the great show he put on for fans to close out the inaugural Meadows Festival. Our thoughts are with West and his family.”
Kardashian is in Paris for Fashion Week along with her mother Kris Jenner and her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian. Earlier this evening, Kim attended a Givenchy show.
It’s unclear if Kim and Kanye’s children, North and Saint, were in the room at the time of the incident. Further details are unavailable at this time.
