UK producer, vocalist and songwriter Knox Brown, follows up his recent collab with Anderson Paak ’No Slaves’ with the title track from his debut EP ‘Searching’ set to be released August 5th on Virgin EMI.
Searching is a showcase of Knox’s power as a writer and performer, chronicling his story moving to the UK from Jamaica as a teenager and his search for identity and fulfilment through music, highlighted by Knox’s expressive, soulful vocals and set to a backdrop of wistful saxophone, tinkling pianos and crisp hip-hop.
Knox has worked behind the scenes in the studio with some of the biggest artists in the world including Beyonce, Jay Z, Mary J Blige, Usher and Jess Glynne among others, being known for his distinctive production and songwriting touch. With his debut EP ‘Searching’ he shows he’s a distinguished artist and vocalist in his own right. The six tracks on the EP are Knox’s creation from start to finish with features from Anderson .Paak, BJ The Chicago Kid and Kojey Radical. They explore themes of migration, alienation and empowerment through an inventive and forward thinking prism of dub, soul, hip hop, jazz and doo wop.
