Krept Drops Emotional Ode to Fatherhood with “Nala’s Song”

Krept, one half of the pioneering UK rap duo Krept & Konan, offers a deeply heartfelt glimpse into fatherhood with his latest single, Nala’s Song. The track, part of their highly anticipated album Young Kingz II (set for release on February 7, 2025), is a touching letter to his daughter, Nala, filled with lessons and reflections.

The poignant visuals for Nala’s Song feature Krept’s family and friends, including DJ Target, JME, and Tay Kabs, alongside their daughters. This inclusion beautifully reinforces the track’s universal message of love, legacy, and breaking generational cycles. Krept’s reflective lyricism shines as he provides wisdom for his daughter to navigate life, emphasizing resilience and reconciliation.

Speaking on the track, Krept shared, “A lot changed for me when I had my daughter. This song is my way of leaving her something timeless—a guide to help her overcome challenges and find strength in difficult moments.”

The release builds on the momentum of recent singles like Smooth Lovin’ featuring Popcaan, as well as solo freestyles by Krept (Daily Duppy: New Snap City ft. Chip) and Konan (Last Night In Kingston), all of which have heightened anticipation for Young Kingz II.

This sequel to their groundbreaking 2013 mixtape brings their journey full circle, exploring themes of fatherhood, grief, and resilience while weaving Afrobeats, Dancehall, Grime, and Hip-Hop into its DNA. With features from Oxlade, Sizzla, Ghetts, and more, the album is poised to cement Krept & Konan as unmatched voices of authenticity in British rap.

To celebrate the album, Krept & Konan will perform at a sold-out show at Outernet London on April 9, 2025, marking yet another milestone in their illustrious career.
