South London drill talent Kwengface has unveiled his long-awaited debut mixtape Young Peckham Boy: Tha Come Up.

A twelve-track release, Young Peckham Boy: Tha Come Up is characterised by Kweng’s trademark cold drill sound and features collaborations with an array of fellow scene warriors. First up is his most recent single ‘Bruck It’, a cross-city collaboration with ICB crew member Q2T, with the pair trading hard-hitting bars amidst a similarly heavy production.

Further singles come in the form of July’s ‘Chef’, a track that sees Kweng in a typically buoyant mood as he delivers quickfire bars and clever wordplay alluding to the uncompromising lifestyle that he leads, and June’s ‘Tetley’, which pairs a dramatic, suspense-heightening production with his effortless, high-energy flow.

Elsewhere, fellow Peckham Boys footsoldier BGody appears on the uncompromising ‘TV’‘Oh Shit’ sees Kweng and Harold Hill rapper Berna channel the smooth vibes to match the delicate production, before things are closed out with ‘Groovy’, where he offers further social commentary on street life alongside Peckham Boy’s Karma

Ahead of the release of the project, he spoke of being driven by a mission to educate and pass down the lessons he’s learned: “I want to be able to guide the younger generation and help steer them in the right direction,” he explained. “I didn’t have a lot of people to teach me about music, social media, money, and in five years’ time I need to be that person for others.”
