Kwesi Arthur is back with a nostalgic “Penny” hit as we head into the summer months; the single is led by an instrumental track that features skippy percussive elements, a series of effective riffs, and the Ghanaian’s trademark smooth vocals; he is continuing to push the sonic boundaries of international music.
Kwesi has continued the success of last year’s lauded record Son Of Jacob with sold-out gigs in London and New York, garnering critical notice from industry heavyweights like as i-D, VIPER, and THE NEW YORKER. DJ Semtex recently gave Kwesi his stamp of approval, saying that he belongs in the same league as Dave, Stormzy, and Drake, and that Kwesi’s music is helping to redefine the sound of current pop.
