The entertainment world continues to mourn the shocking death of artist/entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle. As many continue to mourn nationwide and across social media, the Los Angeles Police Department have identified the main suspect. 29-year-old Eric Holder has been named the shooter, who fired multiple shots including one to the head and body of the 33-year-old rapper. In a statement released shortly after 1 a.m. EST, the LAPD reveals Holder got into an argument with Nipsey Hussle moments before the shooting. An L.A. native, Holder is said to be known by Nipsey and his associates.
On Monday afternoon (Apr. 2), surveillance video surfaced online of the incident where Holder is allegedly seen walking up to Hussle and other patrons outside of The Marathon store at 3:20 p.m. PST in South Central, Los Angeles. At that moment shots were fired and Holder is seen running down an alley way into a white, four-door 2016 Chevy Cruze, with the license plate number 7RJD742. The breaking update came hours after vigils were held for the rapper, real name Ermias Asghedom, outside of The Marathon store he owned on Monday night in Los Angeles and another gathering held in NYC spearheaded by close collaborator and Harlem artist Dave East. Local authorities are asking anyone with info to Eric Holder’s whereabouts to call the South Bureau Homicide at 323-786-5100.
