Lauryn Hill Checks Into Prison For 3 Month Tax Evasion Sentence

hillLauryn Hill has begun her sentence at Federal Correctional Institution.

Lauryn Hill was able to whittle her tax evasion sentence down to 3 months, as she successfully paid her $900,000 debt in full back in May. TMZ now reports that Hill has checked in and begun her prison bid at Federal Correctional Institution as of 11:15 AM EST.

The Danbury prison is a “minimum security type facility,” where prisoners occupy “barracks type” cells.

Hill will be amongst the general population of inmates, as opposed to having an isolated stay.

Just before sentencing, Hill signed a million dollar recording contract with Sony. The deal allowed her to pay back her debt, but also means we will likely be hearing new music from her in the near future.
