Leon Power – Blind (EP)

As one of the first releases from Majestic Casual’s new label, Leon’s new EP sophisticatedly recalls the likes of Honne, Jamie Isaac and James Blake. Written over a 6-month period in his Glasgow studio, it’s a very exciting new era for Power indeed. A home-grown artist truly coming of age.

Containing the gorgeous online smashes “You’ll Be Fine”, “Open Up” and “Blind”, the EP also contains previously unreleased tracks “Follow” and “It Could Be Us”.

Born in London and raised in Edinburgh, Leon’s music brings together a love of RnB, club culture as well as nods to more classical leanings. Leon’s restless, constantly shifting nature has resulted in an eclectic musical output presented in different guises over the last few years. The singer/songwriter/ producer’s quicksilver talent and level of critical acclaim, however, has not.

Recent sessions with luminary Nicolas Jaar in New York and a release on the Disclosure-affiliated Method record label point to Leon’s quietly superlative body of work and the extent of the artist’s growing reputation as next in line to the tastemaker throne.
