Lifesize Teddy, the latest signee to Mavin Records, Africa’s No.1 record label, has dropped her sophomore EP titled ‘POISN’. Known as a rapper, poet, and singer/songwriter, Lifesize Teddy’s new project showcases a shift in tone from her debut EP, delving into themes of grief, sexuality, happiness, and reflections on newfound fame.
The EP’s title, ‘POISN’, serves as a metaphor for Lifesize Teddy’s talent, symbolizing an antidote for those seeking an artist unwilling to be pigeonholed. The project’s first single, ‘Unbeliever’, produced by GRAMMY-nominated Sparrq (known for work with Davido and Ayra Starr), is a prophetic Afrobeats anthem emphasizing the power of the tongue and self-assurance.
‘POISN’ follows Lifesize Teddy’s self-titled debut EP released earlier in the year, which received critical acclaim for its diverse exploration of genres, including Hip-Hop, Alternative R&B, Afro-pop, electronic, and alte sounds. Standout tracks from the debut EP include ‘Hypnotic’, ‘Butterflies’, and ‘Air’.
