On Monday, August 26, Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The Atlanta rapper was booked into the Clark County Detention Center with a bail set at $5,000.

Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, issued a statement clarifying that he holds a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit and that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

Earlier that day, Lil Baby attended James Harden’s 35th birthday celebration at Drai’s Las Vegas, which was also attended by celebrities like Chris Brown, Kevin Durant, Michael Rubin, and Travis Scott.

This isn’t Lil Baby’s first legal issue. In 2021, during Paris Fashion Week, he was briefly detained by police, along with his bodyguard and James Harden, due to the smell of marijuana coming from their vehicle.

On the music front, Lil Baby is nearing the completion of his upcoming project, which he recently shared is about 80 percent finished. His last album, It’s Only Me (2022), was a significant success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featuring collaborations with artists like Future, Young Thug, and Pooh Shiesty.
