Lil Durk, the 32-year-old rapper from Chicago, has reportedly been taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Florida on the evening of October 24. The rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, faces murder-for-hire charges, leading to his booking at the Broward County jail, where he is currently being held without the option for bail.
Earlier on the same day, five of Lil Durk’s associates from his “Only The Family” (OTF) group were indicted on federal charges in Los Angeles, also tied to an alleged murder plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo. Those named in the indictment include Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.
The conflict between OTF and Quando Rondo’s crew appears to have escalated after a shooting in 2022 involving Rondo’s entourage at a gas station in Los Angeles. The incident tragically resulted in the death of Quando’s 24-year-old cousin, Saviay’a Robinson. Investigators believe this conflict is linked to the 2020 killing of rapper King Von, a close associate of Lil Durk, suggesting the two events may be part of an ongoing cycle of violence and retaliation.
More updates are expected as the case unfolds.
