Last night, the BRITs once again showcased the best of British music with awards and performances setting social media alight. The biggest winner on the night was Adele who took home three of the biggest awards, while fellow winners Little Simz and Dave topped memorable wins with even more memorable performances.
The BRITs is an amazing platform for discovery, and last night was no different as people took to Spotify to check out new artists and re-listen to old favourites with all the winners from the night to be found on the Brit Awards 2022: The Winners playlist.
Below are some of the biggest streaming surges seen so far on Spotify:
- Little Simz had a night to remember – winning Best New Artist (while being joined on stage by her adorable mum) and giving an iconic performance of tracks from her album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. Off the back of her medley performance, Simz saw a huge 812% spike for ‘Introvert’ and a 594% spike for ‘Woman’. Overall, Simz saw a 365% spike in streams for her music.
- Adele bagged three of the biggest awards as well as a 137% uplift following the ceremony at 11pm of ‘I Drink Wine’ which she performed sitting on a grand piano.
- Dave put on a victory lap of a performance joined by Fredo, Meekz, Giggs and Ghetts after winning Best Hip Hop/ Grime/ Rap and his track ‘In The Fire’ saw an uplift in streams of 217%
- Ronnie Wood’s ‘favourite’ and Best Alternative/Rock winner Sam Fender saw a 79% uplift in streams following his award win and performance of ‘Seventeen Going Under’
