A whirlwind of Indie Pop, Rnb and Future Bass influences combine with unapologetic, raw lyrics and powerful synths to create the wall of sound that is Maari.
‘Desire’ uses instinctually groovy verses and energetic choruses, delivering a song that’s shoutable and ‘crumpable’. Maari gives a spitfire vocal performance, playing with contrasts invulnerability, passion and aggression. The production features a mixture of delicate and dirty synths with roaring bass sounds; creating a dynamic track with a floor-filling energy.

The single was self-produced and recorded in the duo’s humble Inner West home studio, surrounded by the sounds of aeroplanes,
needy neighbourhood cats and Uber Eats deliveries. During the mixing stages, Bronte Maree and Kabusii worked closely with Sydney engineer Saul Santilli who then forwarded the track too, New York producer Joe Laporta of Sterling Studios for mastering (Shawn Mendez, Imagine Dragons, The Weeknd).
