One of Africa’s biggest labels Mavin records have decided to gift fans an early Christmas present with the new Chapter X album
Since its inception in 2012, the label has given birth to groundbreaking musicians such as Rema, Ayra Starr, and others. They’re commemorating their tenth anniversary with an all-star compilation album that captures the lineup at its peak – unfortunately, it’s just ten songs long! It’s a watershed moment for the label, with each artist coming together despite their own hectic schedules.
In 2022, African music has been at the forefront of worldwide music discussions. The significant people in the Afrobeats (and wider genres) world have set the ground for the genres to develop beyond their wildest dreams. So much so that Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and others are paying notice. In the last month alone, three Nigerian musicians have reached the UK Top 40, including Mavin’s Rema with ‘Calm Down’ to reflect their stronghold in the industry.
