Meek Mill taps The-Dream for “YBA” video.
If Safaree’s claims that Meek Mill’s crew jumped him are indeed just “distractions,” the MMG rapper isn’t letting the drama take his eyes off the prize as he debuts his brand new single, “YBA (Young Black America)” featuring The-Dream. The song borrows Bink!’s smooth beat from Jay Z’s “Blueprint (Momma Loves Me),” and like Hov’s original, finds Meek reflecting on his rough childhood. The accompanying video brings the song to life as the Philly native pulls up to his hood in a Rolls Royce and relives his past — one filled with death, drugs and destruction.
“YBA” follows up recent singles like “Glow Up” and the Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Whatever You Need,” though it’s unclear which — if any — will appear on Meek’s upcoming album Wins & Losses.
