Since the release of his latest album NASIR, Nas has kept quiet making no media rounds or television appearances. The Queens MC made his first late-night appearance since the summer project, paying a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday (Sept. 25). Sitting down with Colbert, Nas discussed loving the art form of hip-hop 24 years strong in the game, classic artists he grew up on, recording NASIR with Kanye West in Wyoming, and his regret putting the song “Dr. Knockboot” on a commercial album (1999’s I Am…).
Backed by singer Jon Batiste and DJ Green Lantern, Nas would later return to the studio stage to perform the song “Adam and Eve.”
