NEW VIDEO: The Game – Holy Water

Jayceon “The Game” Taylor has been speaking about his upcoming “Jesus Piece” album for months and now the artwork, music video and lyrics to his teaser single “Holy Water” has some people praising his efforts and others upset.

While The Game has been vocal about his Christian faith for months, his new music video for “Holy Water” flashes images of bare-bottomed women with dollars being thrown at them, high-priced material items and liquor being poured on a chain bearing the likeness of Jesus Christ. Although a book of prayers, missed calls from “Pastor Mase” and the rapper standing in front of a cross with a crown of thorns juxtaposed some of the vulgar visuals, the lyrics of the song’s hook incorporates the religious themes in the video.

“My Phantom so mean like I washed that (expletive) every Sunday in holy water, My Jesus piece clean, even my shoes are Christians, I’m walking on holy water,” The Game raps about his luxury possessions in the song’s hook. “She came out them True Religion jeans and fell straight to her knees like she was dipped in holy water. Holy water, holy water.”

The Game retweeted multiple positive reactions to his song.

“@thegame new track is crazy, cannot wait for the album drop, #bigthings #holywater #jesuspiece #sundayservice,” one person tweeted after the rapper had been posting new music with the hashtag “#sundayservice” on Twitter.

However, other people complained about the blasphemous nature of the rapper’s song.
