Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz reportedly got taken in by New York police Tuesday (May 22) afternoon after getting busted for possessing brass knuckles at LaGuardia Airport.
Details of the arrest emerged online shortly after Chainz got taken away.

Last year, Chainz revealed a past run-in with police during his younger days.
“I GOT ARRESTED WEN I WAS 15 N SCHOOL,, for FAILURE TO APPEAR , for a prior COCAINE CHARGE ,, SEE I KAME OUT OKAY!,” he tweeted February 14th, 2011. (2 Chainz’s Twitter)
Prior to hooking up with rap star Ludacris, Chainz and Playaz Circle sidekick Dolla Boy ran into crime and violence on their path to make it big.
Around the same time, another aspiring rapper moved to their College Park apartment complex and eventually befriended Tity, meeting him through Lil Fate. His name was Chris Bridges, better know today as Ludacris. They began recording music together at Lil Fate’s in-home studio, but, well, fate seemed to have other plans for Tity and Dolla Boy. Dolla was arrested soon after and sentenced to two years and Tity was shot in the ankle, coincidentally while on his way to meet with Sean “Puffy” Combs to discuss potential business ventures. This brought their careers to a standstill. (Billboard)
Chainz’s name has remained hot as of late, getting co-signs from rappers like 50 Cent.
“[Potentially hot artists?] Definitely 2 Chainz ’cause he’s been around. He’s one of them guys that’s finally having a moment. I remember when he was in Playaz Circle. I know it’s been years and years of work. And the kid Future. He’s got some hits under his belt that ain’t under his name, like that ‘Racks’ joint. I watch. It may seem like I’m doing business in different areas and doing different things, but my passion for music hasn’t changed.” (Shade 45)
