Interested bachelors looking for a shot at Hollywood actress/singer Jennifer Lopez will finally get their chance in the near future as her estranged husband Marc Anthony has filed for divorce.
According to reports, the divorce papers were finally filed this week.
Marc Anthony has filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez, nearly nine months after the pop power couple publicly called it quits. Anthony, 43, cited “irreconcilable differences” in his paperwork and asked for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s adorable 4-year-old twins Max and Emme. The Monday filing flew under the radar for two days until TMZ.com found it listed under Anthony’s legal last name, Muniz. The pair split last July amid reports their seven-year marriage buckled under fears of infidelity, professional jealousy and clashing personalities. (New York Daily News)
Anthony reportedly tried giving it one last shot with J. Lo prior to filing for divorce.
Sources extremely close to Marc tell us, he didn’t make the decision on his own — he had a heart-to-heart with J.Lo a few weeks back to see if she really, truly wanted to end the marriage. We’re told he said he wanted to give the marriage another try, but Jennifer confessed … she was deeply in love with Casper … and wanted to pursue that relationship. Last summer, the 43 year-old musician publicly addressed their separation.
“I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic happening,” Anthony said of their split. “It was a realization on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly…I’ll always love Jennifer. She knows that … my kids know that. You think about your family and the possibilities, but we realized very early on that even though we’re not together, our story’s not over. A year ago, Terror Squad rapper Fat Joe shared his surprised reaction to J. Lo and Anthony’s unexpected break-up.
“It was “one of the saddest days of my life was the three of four days ago,” Fat Joe, told Fox News Latino. “That’s my favorite couple.” Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph “José” Antonio Cartagena says he believes that J.Lo and Marc Anthony are a force to be reckoned with. “They are powerful Latinos, a powerful couple,” said Fat Joe. “I love them both.” The Bronx native, who referred to the couple “as family,” says he has plans to collaborate with both of them individually. “We are supposed to do a big concert coming up with J.Lo,” said Fat Joe.
