Juvenile — birth name Terius Gray — was arrested in Louisiana yesterday for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license … TMZ has learned. Sterlington PD says Juvenile was busted on a simple possession charge and released on $750 bond. How’s this for bad luck — cops tell us Juvenile was pulled over for doing 75 in a 65. (TMZ)
He will reportedly head back to court on April 1st.
According to police in Sterlington, La., the rapper was pulled over for speeding when officers reportedly smelled some herb wafting from the rapper’s vehicle. Asked about the peculiar scent, Juvenile (aka Terius Gray) handed over a small bag of pot. He was hauled in, booked and then allowed to leave after posting $750 bail. He’s due back in court on, get this, April Fool’s Day. (E! Online)
Last February, Juvie was also arrested on a marijuana possession charge.
“The rapper (Juvenile) and music producer Leroy Edwards, 42, were both arrested on marijuana possession charges by agents of the sheriff’s Special Investigations Division, commanded by Col. Chad Clark,” said St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Steve Cannizarro, “after an anonymous complaint called to the Sheriff’s Office about marijuana smoke coming from the house on Livingston Avenue, Sheriff Jack A. Stephens said at the time.” When deputies arrived at the home, Edwards was found in possession of marijuana by authorities. (WWLTV)
Outside of legal woes, Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince is planning to release Juvie’s next solo album.
“We don’t have a title for [Juvenile’s album] yet,” Prince said in an interview. “He has a real exciting single that I’m real crazy about. If I have it my way, the whole Cash Money crew is gonna be on there. They were family in the beginning, and I look at it and view ’em as family now. And my relationship with Baby and Slim is superb. You know, we’re all business men. So there’s no reason we can’t come together and make that happen.” (The Source)
