NEWS: NICKI MINAJ RETURNS TO TWITTER

Young Money star Nicki Minaj reportedly buckled under the pressure and returned back to Twitter after terminating her page earlier this month.

Not yet at the 11 million mark, Nicki’s Twitter followers have continued to grow hourly.

When she previously said goodbye to Twitter, the Head Barb left behind over 11 million followers, making her the most popular MC on the social networking platform, and the 11th most followed individual in the world. Due to these massive numbers, Nicki’s account hasn’t rebooted yet, but over the past hour her follower count has jumped from 67,675 [1:45 p.m. EST] to 191,002 [2:30 p.m. EST]. @NickiMinaj has also yet to post an official comeback tweet. Over the weekend, Minaj showed no indiciation of wanting to make a Twitter comeback.

“Do you,” she asked radio host Tim Westwood when he professed how much fans miss her on Twitter. “I know. [laughs, reads statement from Westwood] ‘Nicki Minaj, please come back to Twitter. We love you and it isn’t the same without you. Do it for the Barbz and Kens and everyone who loves to wear pink on a Friday. Give me life.’ … [Am I going to come back?] No. Tim, I can’t. I miss my Barbz. [They miss me,] but I can’t come back. I just can’t Tim, don’t make me, please don’t. Let’s move on.” (Tim Westwood TV)

Last week, the platinum-selling rapper said something motivated her to delete the account.

Meanwhile, Nicki claims a voice in her head told her to delete her twitter account earlier this week after she got angry about her music being leaked online but Nicki has pleaded for her fans to stand by her. She explained: ‘A voice in my head told me to delete my twitter and that’s what I did. I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me. I miss my Barbz, please wait for me.’ (Monster & Critics)

Reports of her Twitter deletion made headlines around mid-April.

There were cries across the Roman Empire on Sunday when Nicki Minaj deleted her Twitter page. The “Starships” rapper had amassed a large following on the social networking site with 11 million followers. It’s unclear exactly why she decided to disable her account, but it may have to do with a recent influx of negativity on her timeline. She was also unhappy when one fansite prematurely posted snippets of her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Moments before she shut down the page, she tweeted, “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f*cking bye.” (Rap-Up)
