NEWS: SNOOP GETS SNIFFED OUT BY DRUG-FINDING DOG, ARRESTED IN TEXAS

West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg’s fate was delivered to him, coincidentally, by a drug-sniffing dog after it led police to a discovery of marijuana on his tour bus in Texas over the weekend.

According to reports, Snoop was issued a citation for drug possession after admitting the marijuana was his.

Snoop Dogg isn’t the only canine with a nose for weed … TMZ has learned the rapper was ARRESTED in Texas this weekend after a drug-sniffing dog uncovered marijuana on his tour bus. Law enforcement sources tell us … Snoop’s tour bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca — a small town in West Texas where Willie Nelson was popped for weed back in 2010. Cops say Snoop admitted the dope belonged to him. Snoop has a prescription for cannabis in California, but law enforcement tells us, there is a zero tolerance policy for weed in Texas … regardless of his status in other states. Snoop was issued a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released. If convicted on the drug charge, Snoop could face up to 180 days in jail. (TMZ)

Additional reporting claims renowned country singer Willie Nelson was busted there two years ago.

Rapper Snoop Dogg was stopped recently in Sierra Blanca, Hudspeth County Sheriff’s deputies said. Officials at the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Snoop Dogg was stopped, but could not immediately offer further details. Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., is known worldwide as a rap artist. According to his Twitter, he was in San Antonio on Sunday. Back in 2010, country singer Willie Nelson was arrested at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca for allegedly having about 6 ounces of marijuana. Johnny Cash was arrested in October 1965, and held in the El Paso County Jail on a misdemeanor narcotics charge. (El Paso Times)

Last September, Texas rappers Paul Wall and Baby Bash were busted on drug possession charges in El Paso.

“The officer — actually the constable, which in Texas is under a cop, like a wannabe cop — said, ‘Whose the entertainers here?” Bash said. “Me and Paul were like, ‘We are.’ So, he grabbed us, he picked us up, handcuffed us and walked us out like trophies…We smoked in the van so we had no weed on us anymore although we smelled like weed — We pulled up to the club and all of a sudden, the constable is like, ‘I smell weed. Who has the weed?’ We’re like, ‘We already smoked it.’ We got out the van, he searched it and there was nothing there but it still smelled. We go to the club for one hour and then he comes in with his officers and gets us out…They had handcuffed all six of us and put us on the ground. Then he said, ‘Who are the two entertainers?’ I said me and Paul said him, so he grabbed us by the arms and walked us out like we just killed somebody.” (XXL Mag)

Outside of the negative press, Snoop recently appeared on weekday game show, “The Price Is Right.”

Snoop Dogg made one of his patented “Did He Really Do That?!” appearances on Monday with a spot on “The Price is Right,” joining Drew Carey to create what is the greatest hip hop-daytime TV collaborations in history. The rapper played the game first, notching $72,585 for his Snoop Youth Football League (his mind was on the children’s money, this time) and then took a turn doling out the prizes. Apparently, this was a big thrill for him, as he spoke after the show about growing up watching “The Price is Right.” (Huffington Post)
