NEWS: UPDATE: NICKI MINAJ SAYS DON’T EXPECT TWITTER RETURN[VIDEO]

Young Money star Nicki Minaj continues to leave her former 11 million Twitter followers in the dust by stressing an intent not to return to the popular social network.

While she would not explain her reasoning, Minaj said she simply could not make a Twitter comeback.

“Do you,” she asked radio host Tim Westwood when he professed how much fans miss her on Twitter. “I know. [laughs, reads statement from Westwood] ‘Nicki Minaj, please come back to Twitter. We love you and it isn’t the same without you. Do it for the Barbz and Kens and everyone who loves to wear pink on a Friday. Give me life.’ … [Am I going to come back?] No. Tim, I can’t. I miss my Barbz. [They miss me,] but I can’t come back. I just can’t Tim, don’t make me, please don’t. Let’s move on.” (Tim Westwood TV)

Over the week, the platinum-selling rapper said something motivated her to delete the account.

Meanwhile, Nicki claims a voice in her head told her to delete her twitter account earlier this week after she got angry about her music being leaked online but Nicki has pleaded for her fans to stand by her. She explained: ‘A voice in my head told me to delete my twitter and that’s what I did. I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me. I miss my Barbz, please wait for me.’ (Monster & Critics)

Reports of her Twitter deletion made headlines last weekend.

There were cries across the Roman Empire on Sunday when Nicki Minaj deleted her Twitter page. The “Starships” rapper had amassed a large following on the social networking site with 11 million followers. It’s unclear exactly why she decided to disable her account, but it may have to do with a recent influx of negativity on her timeline. She was also unhappy when one fansite prematurely posted snippets of her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Moments before she shut down the page, she tweeted, “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f*cking bye.” (Rap-Up)

Prior to her shocking move, the female rap star surpassed Eminem as Twitter’s hottest rapper in January.

Eminem has just handed his title over to Nicki Minaj as most followed rapper on Twitter. Nicki Minaj has surpassed Eminem as the most followed rapper on Twitter with nearly 8.2 million fans following her, leaving Eminem in the dust with 8.1 million followers, which is not surprising considering Eminem has not used his Twitter account since November of last year and Minaj is constantly using her account to keep her fans updated on her music news. Social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube have become an important part of a musician’s tool box when it comes to promoting music, updating fans or even launching careers, so the more fans you can have following you on these sites, the better it is for your career.
