Nicki Minaj seems to be tired of the bullsh*t and isn’t in a mood to hold back anymore. The latest case is Rick Ross.
Apart from collaborating with Ross in the past, there was another connection the two had: she was dating Meek Mill who is signed to Ross’ Maybach Music Group label. Soon after they broke up, Ross had released a song titled ‘Apple of My Eye‘ on his 2017 album Rather You Than Me where he bashed Nicki. “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki / Instead of beefin’ with your dog, you just give ’em some distance,” he rapped.

In April 2016, she went to the White House, along with Ross, to meet with President Obama. During their visit, she spoke to Obama on behalf of her then-boyfriend Meek, who was on probation at the time in his controversial case. Despite her show of support for Meek, Ross’ “Apple of My Eye” lyric caught her off guard.
“When a grown-ass fucking man name drops a woman and disses a woman to sell an album, when I was the only person in your artist’s corner when everyone turned their back on them, when everyone was calling them Twitter fingers and cracking up laughing at them,” she began.
Nicki finally addressed the lyric during her appearance on the Joe Budden podcast today. “I went and sat down in a meeting with Obama, President Obama and Ross was there and texted dude after the meeting like, ‘Yo, this chick is a keeper,’” Nicki told Budden. “I saw the text myself with my own eyes. ‘This chick is a keeper. She went in a room full of rappers and spoke to Obama and the first thing out of her mouth was about you and figuring out your probation situation and why you’re still on probation after all these years.’ And then you come out on an album when it’s time to sell some weak ass f*cking album and try to disrespect Nicki Minaj. What?”
Following her meeting with Obama, Ross told Meek that Nicki was a “keeper.” “I went and sat down in a meeting with Obama, President Obama, and Ross was there and texted dude after the meeting and said, ‘Yo, this chick is a keeper,’” she said. “I saw the text myself with my own eyes, ‘This chick is a keeper.’ She went in a room full of rappers and spoke to Obama and the first thing out of her mouth was about you and figuring out your probation situation and why you’re still on probation after all these years.”
So she was surprised to hear him diss her on his album. “And then you come out on an album when it’s time to sell some sell weak-ass fucking album and try to disrespect Nicki Minaj. What? And now you tried to disrespect 50, hoped 50 would respond to your nonsense this time? Boy, sit your fat ass down.”
Ross has not addressed Nicki’s comments. The two have collaborated several times in the past, including “I Am Your Leader” for Nicki’s 2012 album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and Ross’ 2011 single “You the Boss.”
