Nicki Minaj Surpasses Aretha Franklin for Most Hot 100 Hits By a Female Artist

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has made history. The Queen Barbz has surpassed the legendary Aretha Franklin for the most Billboard Hot 100 hits. The Young Money superstar brought her count up to 76, passing Franklin’s 73, after the release of her new songs “No Frauds” featuring Drake and Lil’ Wayne (No. 14), “Regret in Your Tears” (No. 61) and “Changed It” featuring Lil Wayne (No. 71).

Aretha Franklin had held the previous record for nearly 40 years, from June 18, 1977 to March 11, 2017. Minaj tied Aretha earlier this month with her “Make Love” collaboration with Gucci Mane when it debuted on the Hot 100 chart on March 18. Dubbed #3PackFromPARIS, Nicki’s recent song package also debuted in the top 15 on the Digital Song Sales chart.
