The 2019 murder of Nipsey Hussle has repercussions well beyond his devoted fan base and the Hip Hop community. It’s excellent that progress has been accomplished in the years following the passing of the rapper, whose influence on his community cannot be emphasised. And thus, as they say, the race goes on.
This afternoon, we learned that Nipsey’s murderer will be brought to justice.
Eric Holder, who was convicted of first-degree murder in July of 2018, was given a sentence of 60 years to life in prison today. Holder was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder, 25 years for the firearm sentencing enhancement, and 10 years for assault with a firearm, according to AP News. At 33 years old, Holder is destined to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
