Earlier this week, J. Cole resurfaced with “Snow On Tha Bluff,” a four-minute track that found him thinking out loud about his efforts in today’s unjust times while addressing a certain woman who was disappointed in big-named rappers that haven’t used their platform to speak to fans.
Social media quickly came to the conclusion the woman was Noname after she had previously sent out a tweet calling out “top-selling rappers.” As for J. Cole’s song, the reception was a bit mixed with some accepting the authenticity of his thoughts, while others labelled it as tone-deaf.
Offering her own response to the record, Noname shares “Song 33.”
Clocking in at just a little over 1 minute, the Chicago rapper questions Cole’s decision to “write about me when the world is in smokes.” A surprise release, to say the least, the track is also produced by Madlib.
