OG Maco might have a long way to go before becoming one of the major names in the rap industry, but he is quickly turning into the genre’s biggest critic. After voicing his dissatisfaction with Travi$ Scott’s latest single “3500,” he returned to Twitter to address the rappers who constantly rap about drugs. In his rant, he name dropped Future and his 56 Nights mixtape.
The message Maco attempted to convey was he is against artists who try to make taking drugs look cool. Aware of the influence some of his colleagues have on the society, he appealed to them to reconsider their subject matter. He gave Future and his Xanas references as an example.
“I love Future but I also understand Future has destroyed countless lives by making it cool to be a drug addict. 56 Xans isn’t cool,’ Maco wrote.“
Of course, the FutureHive got at Maco and reminded him he rose to success thanks to “U Guessed It.” Maco has addressed his breakthrough single on multiple occasions, claiming he knew it will blow up but is not proud of it because it shows how dull the rap fans are. A few tweets later, he clarified he was not dissing Future. Quite the opposite, he remains one of his favorite artists in spite of the questionable lyrics.
