With new track POV, young Londoner Patch is looking at life from a different view point as he spits over a more playful, sun kissed beat and pitched up vocals courtesy of producer Canis Major. POV comes hot off the heels of previous tracks ‘90s’ and Sketchbook which garnered support from MTV The Wrap Up, Clash, SBTV, Indie Shuffle and a host of Hype Machine sites. Radio Hoxton, Radar and Reprezent. ‘Point Of View’ sees the continuation of his late night hip hop beats and introspective wordplay, this time bringing a more upbeat vibe to the summer months.
Patch explains: “Point of view is me taking a moment to understand that the truth and essence of people and situations is based purely on the filter through which we as individuals look at them. It’s about knowing that we have the power to change that perspective at any time and experience life in new ways. It was inspired by me noticing that my happiness levels had grown over the course of a few months yet nothing around me had really changed, I was just living from a different Point Of View.”
The element that binds all of Patch’s music together is his concept of ‘Drunken Philosophy/Embrace Your Contradictions’. He explains: “I created the Drunken Philosophy/Embrace Your Contradictions movement as a way of encouraging myself and others to express all elements of who they are, even the bits that don’t make sense to the rest of the world”… “Like many of us I like to party but I’m also very passionate about philosophy and spirituality, so the phrase Drunken Philosophy sums that up.”
