Pharrell Williams’ inaugural Something in the Water Festival took over the shores of Virginia Beach, VA this weekend. The three-day festival got off to a bad start as the first day was cancelled due to heavy rain. The skies cleared and the sun was out strong for day two on Saturday (Apr. 27), loaded with performances by SZA, Travis Scott, A$AP Ferg, J Balvin and more. The highlight of the night came from Pharrell himself, who delivered a thrilling set of hits with some superstar friends. Diddy, Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Wilson, Tyler, the Creator, N.E.R.D. and Busta Rhymes all make appearances. The biggest surprise of the night came towards the end of Pharrell’s set, as JAY-Z joined his long-time collaborator to perform the song “Frontin.”
A night after performing his ‘B-Sides 2’ show, the mogul/rapper joined Skateboard P for a medley of “P.S.A.,” “Izzo,” “Excuse Me Miss Again (La-La-La),” and “Give It 2 Me.” The ‘SITW’ Festival continues on Sunday (Apr. 28) with performances by Chris Brown, Anderson. Paak and The Free Nationals, Teddy Riley & Friends, Pusha T, DRAM and Jhené Aiko.
