POESY drops off a new Kate Harrison directed cinematic visual for her smooth track ‘Diamonds.’
The visual ranges from far-out landscape shots to intense close-up’s and split screens which allow the viewer to compare and contrast the events on screen between ‘the good’ and ‘the bad’. It’s a clever concept, having POESY act as the “dark inner turmoil” she describes and have her personify those thoughts and feelings and the idea of being chased or haunted by them. Visually, the music video represents POESY, her style, her creativity and the song’s narrative beautifully and succinctly. The story told through the music video is dramatised in a creative way but remains easy-to-follow and engaging to the viewer, making ‘Diamonds’ her best music video to date.
“Diamonds is at its core, a song about experiencing a dark time and trying to drag yourself through to the other side. It’s about the pressure you put on yourself that leaves you with dark inner turmoil. I’ve dragged myself out of that countless times so I hope Diamonds can do that for someone else. I called it Diamonds because they’re a substance that is made under huge amounts of pressure, but they’re also so valuable – just like we are. So be gentle with yourself…” – POESY x
