Potter Payper releases brand new single ‘Nothings Free’, featuring Suspect.
It comes just days after Potter announced his highly anticipated new mixtape, ‘Thanks For Waiting’, set for release on Friday 1st October via 0207 Def Jam.
The new single is a further display of Potter’s incomparable lyrical dexterity, this time backed by the distinctive vocals of fellow rapper, Suspect. Whilst production comes courtesy of Quincy Tellem, the Darnell Depradine directed visual sees the pair delivering a lively display, that flits between gritty and clean-cut desert scenes. Potter shows yet again that he is able to occupy multiple spaces through his music and adapt to a range of different styles.
‘Thanks For Waiting’, pays recognition to all those who have continued to support Potter in spite of his absence during the last few years. Featuring his recently released single ‘Catch Up’ alongside fellow British emcee M Huncho, the tape includes 19 unheard songs which all find Potter effortlessly delivering his quintessential accounts of street politics, whilst presenting a whole new side to his lyrical abilities that places him firmly amongst his peers. There is no questioning the true extent of his pen, as he advances his craft and joins forces with some of the most exciting names in the UK. The new tape is the follow up project to last year’s critically acclaimed Training Day 3 – the final instalment to his iconic road rap trilogy – which debuted at #3 in the UK Official Album Chart and has amassed over 68 million combined streams to date. “The inspiration behind the tape is to elevate my sound and take it to the next level whilst still remaining true to it.” Potter says.
