Raised in the suburbs of Upper Marlboro, MD, Demi Day has taken her very common experiences and transformed them into daily expression. Approaching hip-hop as “the new 9-5,” Day works hard to make a difference through lyrical authenticity and connectivity. While most rap artists emphasize the nightlife and street grind (which is glorified and centralized in the genre), Demi finds herself on the outside, in broad daylight, casting shadows with new sounds.
