Georgia Blackwell premiers her new visual for “Fever.”
Georgia Blackwell is a London based new age soul singer songwriter with a big voice. The upcoming single ‘Fever’ tells a moody tale of a new romance and the pull and push of desire that comes within a budding relationship. Blackwell’s sultry vocals and sassy lyrics draw the listener in while the song takes you on a journey played out by her live band, creating a sound that is a cross over of soul, R&B and pop. Fever is set for release at the beginning of August and will be the first track from her self-titled debut E.P.
After the success of her debut single ‘Deadweight’, which reached number 12 in the iTunes charts last year, Georgia went on to receive funding support from PRS for music through their Women Make Music grant scheme. With this funding she teamed up with producer Fred Cox – who has produced for the likes of James Morrison, Sam Henshaw and Idris Elba – to record her E.P. The outcome is a soulful exploration of self empowerment, love, loss and friendship. Her honest and edgy delivery captures a rawness that has lead to comparisons with artists such as Joss Stone and Lauryn Hill.
