Born and raised in South East London, carrying with him a West African (Sierra Leone) heritage, Mamy Dope (Alhaji Wurie) is a fast rising Rapper/writer who specialises in UK/Trap music. He is well known for his unique sound-creating distinctive hooks, and drawing inspiration from the likes of QuavoJuicy JSnoop DoggWretch 32 and more.

Growing up, Mamy Dope listened to Usher and R Kelly to name a few and quickly discovered he had a major interest in music and aged 13 he began rapping. However he didn’t start taking his music career seriously until 2015 when he produced his first track which went on to reach over 14,000 YouTube views.

He then went on to release more videos in addition to featuring on tracks with established artists such as the 3x MOBO Award Nominee Mista Silva. Via his work in the underground Urban circuit Mamy Dope was able to become a part of the best MCs in the UK Afrobeats scene to go down to the Red Bull Studios in London in April for a cipher. Since then a buzz has been growing for Mamy and he is now sharing a series of new tracks and is looking to share his musical experiences with his growing fanbase.
