Rising West-London-based artist Nasa Woods continues his ascent to mainstream consciousness with his new single “F.R.I.E.N.D.S”.
Following his acclaimed recent release “Can’t Stop Me Now”, which picked up over 34,000 streams and heat on several Spotify editorial playlists globally in the process, Woods continues to create his lane with the bass-heavy, polished production on “F.R.I.E.N.D.S” acting as the perfect foundation for his rap-sung vocals. An experimental flair balanced with dynamic textures; Nasa wrote the track with ex-JLS member Oritse Williams with the result a raw, infectious jam that’s bound to continue the intrigue around the innovative new artist.
Speaking on the track, Nasa states “It was written during a time I started dating a new girl I had just met; I didn’t want to be in a situation where I was going to being taken for granted, especially when it was involving someone else “the friend”. It was my way of smiling and walking away rather than causing unnecessary drama.”
Initially making a name performing covers on YouTube and Soundcloud, Woods developed a cult fanbase before beginning to officially release solo material. Still just a few songs deep, the London artist is already picking up plaudits, with comparisons ranging from Zayn Malik to Bazzi and The Weeknd.
