Keep Me” is a record that elaborates on two conflicting sides that exist within Nate Lesco. The song puts the side of Nate that wants to succeed in his endeavours despite the odds that are put up against him, against the side of him that is filled with insecurity and doubt. Nate tries to destroy this counterpart, attacking it with an aggressive flow filled with hate that is just as strong as his doubt.
Nate Lesco is an aspiring artist that currently lives in Calgary, AB, Canada. With influences that spread all over the spectrum (from Donald Glover, to Stevie Wonder, to Damien Chazelle and even more), Nate aims to bring a type of uniqueness to his music that will resonate with people everywhere. In hopes to bring light to both himself and the city he is from, Nate works to create things that set himself apart from the rest of the crowd.
“Keep Me” is about the ongoing relationship that occurs between my ambitions and my perceptions about reality. I think a lot of people are under the impression that the song is about an ex-girlfriend, but it isn’t. I wrote the song with the intention of expressing an ongoing battle that goes on within my own mind. I’ve always had big goals and ambitions, and a lot of it is to my own detriment. – Nate Lesco
